Meetings are the 3rd Tuesday of every month, and we hope to see you this week.

The Mothball is an annual costume party and fundraiser for the Grant Park Neighborhood Association. The proceeds go to help make Grant Park a better place for all to reside. The Mothball costume party is a tradition of fun and merriment that has lasted over 40 years. Welcoming people of all neighborhoods, races, backgrounds, and viewpoints. We have decided to bring "MARDI GRAS TO GRANT PARK!!!" as this years theme. The event will be November 11th and will be held at the Grant Park Rec Center (537 Park Ave SE) from 8pm till 1am. We'll have an authentic New Orleans Brass Band, food menu and libations - plus live VJing (DJ Fernando F), a costume contest, dance-off, specialty drinks, prizes and lots of d├ęcor!!

GPNA, in association with Peoplestown Neighborhood Association, South Atlanta Civic League, and SAND, will be bringing an Atlanta City Council District 1 Public Candidate Forum on Thursday, October 19th, 2017 at the Ormewood Church from 6-8 PM.

The September 19th GPNA Meeting marked the opening of the GPNA Officer and Chair nominations period. Nominations will no longer be accepted after the October 17th GPNA Meeting. Voting will occur at the November 21st GPNA Meeting.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Statement from City Council Member Carla Smith Regarding Pedestrian Safety Fixes in Grant Park

Grant Park Security Patrol is a nonprofit corporation(IRS 501C4), which hires off-duty City of Atlanta police officers to patrol the streets of our neighborhood, to supplement the regular patrols of APD. Although "off-duty," these police officers still retain full policing powers, allowing them to stop and question suspicious persons, ask for IDs, and check for prior arrests and outstanding warrants. Patrol schedules are constantly updated to address the crime patterns the neighborhood experiences.

Get your sunburst... Everybody is doing it! This unofficial symbol of the neighborhood has been quite popular through the years as evidenced by the number of them that you see hanging from Grant Park homes. Sunbursts are pre-painted in yellow and blue and homeowners are encouraged to add their street addresses.

Kroger will donate money to GPNA, now you must annually renew your Plus Card! Also select Grant Park Neighborhood Association Inc @AmazonSmile.
