Alison Michaels Fandel and Derek Fandel have resided in their 1892 Queen Anne Cottage since August Of 2017. Alison grew up in Atlanta and has been in the area since returning to Georgia via Southern California in 2002. Derek, an Alaskan, made his way to Grant Park in 1994.

A light & bright theme has always been the couple’s aesthetic, carrying their “All White” exterior from their last home to this new renovation. Alison being a Realtor @ Adams Realtors since 2006, having an interior design practice as well, knew just how lucky she was when she found this home prior to hitting the market that had only two families as owners prior to them. When deciding to renovate upon purchase, they wanted to ensure to keep the historic integrity while modernizing to their clean, minimal aesthetic, leaning towards a Scandinavian style design. Upon entering, you will see the classic wide hallway, over 12ft ceilings, original millwork, perfectly preserved, along with amazing details of all the original ceramic knobs, transoms and incredible original fireplace mantels.

Derek and avid skateboarder, which you will see his collection upon visiting, spent decades building high end furniture and architectural metalwork, which came in handy when needed to finish putting the original moldings back together after the renovation. You will find him mostly out back in his “All Black” shop or with Alison in their Garden, a hobby the two share together. You may have spotted the two around the hood, easily identified by their Grant Dane, Francis, or maybe you attended one of the art events, Alison throws with her partner, Alyssa( The Black House), Shoppe Native, where they curate locally sourced art and goods to the neighborhood via their homes.  To the Fandels, Grant Park is home, definitely, just home.
