Grant Park Sign Victim Of Theft/Vandalism

Resident Resources
The Grant Park post and sign at Hill Street were recently the victims of vandalism/theft. The 10-ft. dark green post, which was broken off at the base, was recovered but is probably not repairable. The sign, which has a historic look and reads "Grant Park Est. 1898" is still missing. The post and sign were put up in 1999 by the Grant Park Neighborhood Association (GPNA) as a way of honoring the historic character of the neighborhood and as a welcome to the neighborhood. The cost of the post, sign and installation was approximately $2,000.

Five posts and signs were purchased in the mid-90s from funds raised by the GPNA. The remaining four are in storage but were slated to be installed in other areas of Grant Park this year.
